Hey everyone! I was digging through my storage and I found this interesting Alps build I was working on a few years back that I never really completed. Here's the deal:
Alps SKCM Cream - I believe pulled from an old AEK or something.
I believe these were originally the Damped variant, but have had some extensive work done to them:
I cleaned the entire batch thoroughly, before: removing the dampening, click modding them, then wax-boiling them. They are very smooth, loud and clicky. I'm no Alps connoisseur, but with my experience with them, I'd rate them somewhere between 8.5/10.
FK-2001 Keycaps
* Some slight yellowing as seen in the images. If you need more angles, feel free to let me know.
Mated to a Hiney H60 JST PCB, with a 3D printed plate.
I believe this build is ready to drop into a 60% oring case with a JST Unified Daughterboard, (eg. Bakeneko, Unikorn) but as I never finished the build I won't know for sure. I believe that, due to the footprint difference from MX, Alps switches fit weirdly with oring keyboards, so you can see from some of the images that I attempted to print "spacers" that fit on the long edges of the sides of the build, spacing out the oring so it has proper friction in the case. I do not remember how well they worked or if they worked at all.
