I have six (6) vintage KeyTronic Flex Pro capacitive keyboards, with five in their original retail boxes.
Like almost all capacitive KeyTronic boards from this era, the internal foam-and-foil pads under the keycaps have degraded over time, so none of the boards are currently functioning. The outer cases, keycaps, cables, and original boxes are in fair-to-good cosmetic condition. Some were never used, just stored in the top of the closet after purchase in the early 2000s. One or two have missing right-hand space-bar springs.
The Trade / Barter Deal:
I am offering 5 of these keyboards to you for free, in exchange for restoring 1 of them to fully working condition for me (installing new foam-and-foil pad kits and cleaning the switch contacts/PCB). You keep the other 5 units to restore, sell, or harvest for parts.
How we can handle the trade:
To ensure both sides are protected and the work gets completed, we can do this in one of two ways:
1.
Collateral Deposit: You put down a $50 cash deposit when picking up the lot. When you return with my 1 restored, fully functional keyboard, I return your $50 deposit.
2.
Two-Stage Pick-Up: You take 3 boards first to complete the restoration on 1 unit. Once you return my working keyboard, you pick up the remaining 3 boards as payment.
Details:
• Location: San Francisco (local pickup — no shipping).
• Ideal for: Vintage computer collectors, mechanical keyboard enthusiasts, or local restorers who buy foam-and-foil pad replacement kits in bulk (e.g., TexElec).
If interested, please reply with your experience with vintage hardware restorations and which pickup option you prefer. Thank you.
